“Don’t worry about the way your muscles and skin look now,” Suzanna said. “They will fill out when you become more active.”

Tina curled a fist and noticed the cut on her arm had already stopped bleeding.

“You did it, Tina,” Suzanna said. “Your operation was a complete success.”

She kept looking at herself, the fear slowly being replaced by awe.

“You are now the Size Queen.”

Tina worked up the nerve to finally hit the send button.

It had been six weeks since she’d emerged from her cocoon. That’s what they were all calling it now—their cocoon. The mind really did have a strange way of adjusting and putting things into perspective. The first few days had been rough. Seeing each other again was almost as traumatic as seeing themselves for the first time. People had cried in disbelief and shock. She remembered seeing Gwen, a lumbering, stilted zombie that shambled toward her with outstretched arms and tear-filled eyes. They’d embraced and wept, mourning the loss of the three young girls who underwent that horrible process, the two things that had emerged.
